After much consideration, I've decided to allow a new type of 'Unknown' cache on Opencaching.org.uk

A USB Dead Drop.

Further info on the idea at http://deaddrops.com/

If you decide to go hunting these caches, or indeed you wish to place a USB Dead Drop cache, PLEASE make sure your anti-virus / anti-spyware software programs are up to date.

Time will tell whether or not these caches will prove popular. If they do, then maybe we can organise a special cache type for them.

In addition to the "digital hygiene" question, there is also the cache site permissions question. These devices will need to be attached in a permanent way to a building or structure - so I would suggest that the potential hider should be very careful about getting permission for the cache.

There's a Wiki page here and a suggested Readme.txt and a Logbook.txt to be included in the cache's contents.
